Why is Protein important?

Protein is an important dietary macronutrient that we need every single day. Protein is made up of amino acids which help support muscles, and is necessary for tissue building and repair and other critical physiological functions. Want to know more - read this blog to find out more about getting enough protein or visit the NHS website about healthy eating

How much protein do you need?

It's recommended that we consume 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight - this is approximately 56 grams per day for the average sedentary man or 46 grams for the average sedentary woman. Having one to two portions of Arbonne Protein Powder can help ensure your body is getting the fuel and nutrients it needs alongside a healthy, balanced diet.

When should I use protein powder?

Use Protein Powder as a replacement to a meal, as a breakfast booster or smoothie, in porridge or overnight oats. It can also be a great boost before you work out to help lower damage to your muscles as you train. You can also use it post-workout to help promote muscle recovery and strength.

Arbonne has also created a Protein Boost which is favourless and odourless meaning it can be added to savoury dishes without changing the taste so a vegan, soup, chilli or vegetable stew can have added protein without the kids even knowing it.

What is protein?

There are a few different types of vegan protein powders. The most common ones are soy proteinhemp proteinbrown rice protein, and pea protein. A protein is nothing more than a chain of amino acids. Nine of these amino acids are essential to our bodies – we can't produce them ourselves but have to get them from food. Some of them we need more of and some less. Arbonne has created a protein that is a combination of Pea, Rice and Cranberry proteins meaning that each product has a 100% amino acid score which is key to optimum absorption - now that’s clever.
